OWGA’S 2020 Handicap tournament is complete and in the books! With three challenging courses, this year’s tournament gave us all we could handle.

Believe it or not, after three days of competition, we had a tie for first place at the end of the third day! Lori Basch caught Sharry Fan who had been in the lead since the first day. Anonymous sources tell me, Lori pitched in on her last regulation hole to save par giving her the score she needed.

Once the scores were all checked and counted, Sharry and Lori went back out to hole #1 for a playoff. As the tension mounted, both hit great drives down the middle. After that, one ball stayed in bounds by mere inches…but left a tough shot, one ball dropped in soppy ground under repair, and yet another plopped in the water. In the end, Lori gave it her all, but Sharry reigned victorious!!

The trophy and congratulations were presented to Sharry back at the clubhouse to rousing applause from those that stuck around to watch the playoff and congratulate the winner.

Full results are on the website including monies (under summary) that will be awarded to the top third of the field. Congratulations to all of you!

Thanks to all for playing this year especially amidst all 2020 has held for us! Our next major is the Match Play tournament in February. Get it on your calendars now so you’ll be ready. Stay safe and keep swinging!

Congratulations Sharry Fan! 2020 OWGA Handicap Tournament Winner!!
