OWGA Rewards are a key element associated with recognizing our members for both Participation and Performance in our OWGA events.  This program allows OWGA members to accrue rewards throughout the season which will translate to cash.  All Participation and Performance Rewards accrued, along with cash won at our Majors (Championship, Handicap and Member-Member Match Play) and in Special Award Categories (Putting and Most Improved) will be paid out at the end of the season.

There are two distinct types of Rewards our members can accrue:

  1. Participation Rewards – These rewards are earned for all OWGA regular play day events and for team events held on luncheon play days, where a score has been posted.  In order to redeem Participation Rewards for cash at the end of the season a member must have reached a payout threshold of 11 or more Attendance Credits and attend two meetings .   If you meet this criteria then you will be rewarded with cash payouts at the end of the season.    Any member joining after the first of the year will have her payout threshold adjusted accordingly by the Board.

Note:  A member may get double “Attendance Credit” for certain courses played, however, Participation Rewards are NOT doubled.  Attendance Credits are associated with Participation Rewards and are separate and distinct from Performance Rewards earned by winning weekly events.

  1. Performance Rewards – These rewards are based on performance at OWGA events.  Performance Rewards will be allocated to one third of the field or one third of each flight, depending on the game. Attendance requirements do not have to be met to earn Performance Rewards.

Note: Performance Rewards are NOT allocated for OWGA Majors (Championship, Handicap and Member-Member Match Play) and Special Award Categories (Putting and Most Improved) as well as Sponsorship of a new member because specific cash prizes are associated with these events/categories and are paid out at season end.
