The Most Improved Player is a season long competition which identifies and rewards the player whose handicap index has improved the most over the course of the season. Here’s how it works:

  • Open to all members.
  • GHIN or Golf Net Handicap indices are recorded on May 15 (the end of the season) and are compared to the same members’ indices near the end of the current season – April 15 is the cutoff date for the 2022-2023 season.
  • If a member joins OWGA after the start of the season, her starting index is the index with which she joined.
  • USGA rules for computing most improved are used to determine the winner.
  • The winner is awarded a cash prize and possession for the following season of the Denny Champagne Most Improved Player Trophy.

Our 2022 – 2023 OWGA Most Improved Player of the Year is Susie Keane!
