The Most Improved Player is a season long competition which identifies and rewards the player whose handicap index has improved the most over the course of the season. Here’s how it works:

  • GHIN or Golf Net Handicap indices are recorded on May 15 (the end of the previous season) and are compared to the same members’ indices near the end of the current season – May 1st is the cutoff date for the 2023-2024 season.
  • New members are not eligible to compete for this award until their second season.
  • Members must meet attendance credit requirements by season end to win this award.
  • USGA rules for computing most improved are used to determine the winner.
  • The winner is awarded a cash prize and possession for the following season of the Denny Champagne Most Improved Player Trophy.

Our 2023 – 2024 OWGA Most Improved Player of the Year is Glenda Todd!
